The Bianconeri will host the Premier League giants on Wednesday at the Allianz Stadium, and UEFA have decided to pick a profile with significant European experience to oversee the game.

Who is Juventus vs Manchester City referee Clément Turpin

Turpin has officiated 50 Champions League games since 2014 and will take charge of his third match in the competition this season, having previously been appointed for Atalanta’s goalless draw at home against Arsenal, during which he awarded the hosts a penalty.

The 42-year-old also evokes bad memories for the Bianconeri, as he was the referee of the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, which saw Ajax come back from behind at the Allianz Stadium to knock the Old Lady out of the competition.

Before that, he crossed paths with Juventus in 2017, when they drew 1-1 against Sporting Lisbon in the group stage.

The French has also officiated the Champions League semifinal’s second-leg between Inter and Milan in 2023.

Turpin’s compatriots Nicolas Danos and Erwan Finjean will be the assistants for the Bianconeri’s home meeting against City. Mathieu Vernic was named as the fourth official, with Video Assistant Referee Willy Delajod and Assistant Video Assistant Referee Benoit Millot completing the team.
