La Liga giants Real Madrid had scouts in attendance at the club’s weekend meeting with Girona.
This came with a view to keeping a watchful eye on the performance of Blanquivermells standout Miguel Gutiérrez.
Defender Gutiérrez for his part departed Madrid for Girona back in the summer of 2022.
And, in the time since, the 22-year-old has gone on to establish himself as not only one of his side’s star performers, but one of the most consistent in all of Spanish football.
Amid an ongoing search for fresh blood at left-back, such performances have not gone at all unnoticed on the part of the brass at Real Madrid, who boast both a 50% sell-on clause and bargain €8 million buyback clause on Gutiérrez.
In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear that Los Blancos sent members of their scouting department to watch the Spaniard in action in the club’s meeting with Girona on Saturday.
And though Gutiérrez and his teammates were ultimately condemned to a 3-0 defeat, those in the stands at the Estadi Montilivi, as per **[Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/girona-fc/20241208/1002367732/real-madrid-puso-lupa-sobre-miguel.html)**, were left largely impressed by the performance put forth by their former full-back.
