Arsenal boss opens up about Riccardo Calafiori

Arteta was asked how the Italian is doing and when will he be back. The Spanish boss hoped that the 22 year old is able to play against Monaco on wednesday. But, he refused to give clear answer and explained why it is the case.

“I hope (Calafiori plays against Monaco), but it’s more a question for the doctors and the physios to understand where we are. We are missing a lot of players in the backline. The good thing is whatever we put there, they respond” – Arteta as quoted by Football London.

Calafiori has been a key player for Arsenal this season. He is being regularly used as left back. So far, the Italian has played 13 games and has also scored 1 goal which came in an important match against Man City.

Will Gunners change their transfer plans?

Arsenal have been constantly hit by injuries this seasons. They have missed many if their top players. Now, Arteta has many problems in the defence and this may force him to change his plans.
