Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter could be set to finally return to management in the Premier League, but only until the end of the season.
Potter has been without work since being sacked by Todd Boehly in April 2023. The Englishman lasted less than seven months in charge of the club, suffering 11 defeats in 31 games. After turning down the opportunity to take charge of Leicester City and Ajax in the summer, Potter has been showing his face in the media this season, confirming that he's 'open to everything' recently.
"As I've said before, you're open to everything, but at the same time, I'm really enjoying this [punditry] because it is another perspective," he said on Amazon Prime last week. "You get to see it from your eyes and how the media thinks about the game.
"That’s always interesting. It makes you realise how much you know. It’s a different lens, so that can only make you better once you understand that as well. I’ve enjoyed that; these two guys (Emile Heskey and Kevin Nolan) have been brilliant company this evening, so it’s been good."
Now, according to talkSPORT, Potter is 'willing' to take the West Ham job until the end of the season. Julen Lopetegui is facing the axe ahead of Monday night's clash with Wolves and is likely to leave the Hammers if they lose.
It's reported that the club are considering making a short-term appointment to steer them away from relegation, and Potter is one of the favourites. Former Juventus boss Max Allegri has also held talks, according to the same outlet.
