NBA Announces Fine For Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves might be one of the best stars in the league, but that doesn’t mean he’s immune to fines from the NBA.

On Monday morning, the NBA announced that Edwards had been fined $25,000 for “using profane language” during a media interview on Friday night.

Edwards’ statement came after the Timberwolves beat the Golden State Warriors 107-90.

During that game, Edwards posted 30 points, 4 rebounds, and nine assists.

Just two days later, the Timberwolves and Warriors met again, and this time Golden State beat them 114-106.

Edwards scored 27 points, five rebounds, and six assists during that loss.

Edwards and his Timberwolves were the talk of the NBA last season, and they caught the attention of many, especially as they stormed through the postseason.

But things haven’t been as smooth this year, and the Timberwolves are currently the ninth team in the West with a 12-11 record.

As for Edwards, he is putting up 26.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in 2024-25.

Minnesota went through some changes in the summer, and that seems to have affected them.

Their defense, which earned so much praise last year, has taken a step back and it’s left the team with big voids.

Edwards is still playing like an All-Star and is one of the best young players in the league, but the Timberwolves aren’t thriving like they did in 2023-24.

$25,000 isn’t a huge chunk of change for Edwards, but it’ll likely make him think twice before saying something out of line in the near future.

If his team can climb higher in the standings and score more wins, he’ll have nothing but good things to say.
