Manchester City lineup vs. Juventus: Predicted XI for Champions League clash

Amid an awful run of results at home and abroad, Manchester City will travel to Turin for a high-profile Champions League clash with Serie A giants Juventus on Wednesday.

The reigning Premier League champions have been plagued by injuries of late, and several key men are still missing ahead of their trip to northern Italy.

Nathan Ake sustained a hamstring injury in last week's win over Nottingham Forest and has joined Rodri, Oscar Bobb, Mateo Kovacic and John Stones in the treatment room, while Manuel Akanji's participation remains in some doubt.

The latter was withdrawn at half time against Forest with an unspecified issue and did not play at the weekend, though Phil Foden could be back on the bench after being laid low by bronchitis.

Either Josko Gvardiol or 19-year-old Jahmai Simpson-Pusey should start alongside Ruben Dias in central defence, with Kyle Walker and Rico Lewis operating as full-backs.

City boss Pep Guardiola must weigh up whether to hand Kevin De Bruyne his third start in the space of a week, as the Belgian midfielder continues to play through the pain of a hernia problem.

Guardiola also faces a goalkeeping quandary, as Stefan Ortega could start for the fourth consecutive game at Ederson's expense; Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes are all vying for selection on the left wing.

Meanwhile, up front, there is no direct replacement for Erling Haaland, who has scored 13 goals in 15 Premier League appearances this season - though Saturday's strike against Crystal Palace was only the third in his last 10.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ortega; Walker, Dias, Gvardiol, Lewis; Gundogan; Savinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Doku; Haaland
