The Portland Trail Blazers got upstaged by the LeBron James-less [Los Angeles Lakers](https://www.silverscreenandroll.com) Sunday night on the road, 107-98. The Blazers played a good first quarter, but then the offense cratered as the Lakers seized control behind solid performances from Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell and Rui Hachimura.
Following the loss, Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups discussed the team’s difficulties in a “disappointing” second quarter and how the Lakers “opened the game up” during that stretch. Billups highlighted the importance of the 3-point shot in today’s game, saying it’s hard to win when their top shooters — Jerami Grant, Anfernee Simons and Shaedon Sharpe — can’t get it going from downtown. He also talked about a positive return from Scoot Henderson and how the team will benefit from four days of rest from a health standpoint.
With the Blazers on the road, no postgame player interviews were available to watch on the Trail Blazers YouTube page. The Blazers did cut together a two-and-a-half minute highlight video from the game, which includes a nice Sharpe alley oop in mop-up time.
The Lakers may have gotten the win Sunday, but Henderson took home the highlight of the night. The second-year point guard got rewarded for his willingness to shoot end-of-quarter heaves when he banked in a shot from well over halfcourt at the third-quarter buzzer. The shot cut the deficit to 77-74, but Portland couldn’t parlay the play into big fourth-quarter momentum.
The Blazers have four days of rest before they face the [San Antonio Spurs](https://www.poundingtherock.com) at the Moda Center Friday night.
