Mac Allister ‘happy’ to see Messi enjoying life at Inter Miami

Speaking to AS, the Argentine international shared how delighted he is to see Messi ‘happy’ at Inter Miami, with Mac Allister hopeful that the forward can stay in this mindset heading into the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

With Sergio Aguero also predicting Messi to play at the next World Cup with Argentina, all signs seem to point towards the Inter Miami attacking doing just that, especially if he can stay fit in 2025 with the Herons.

And Mac Allister believes Messi will be at the 2026 World Cup having settled into life with Inter Miami, with the Liverpool midfielder saying: “I hope so. I think so. There’s a year and a half left to go until the World Cup, and that’s nothing.

“He looks happy, and although I don’t know what will happen with his future, it seems like he’s going to stay with Inter Miami to keep playing and enjoying himself. I hope he can make it because he’s the player who makes the difference. It’s always a plus to have him with us.”

Yet the Argentine chose America, and the decision has proved to be a smart one, with Andres Iniesta saying Messi is happy at Inter Miami having made the move 18 months ago and taken the Herons to new heights.

With Javier Mascherano at the helm, Inter Miami are doing all they can to cater to Messi’s needs, and next year could be one to remember for the Herons if the 37-year-old attacker can remain fit.
