Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has admitted that he is planning to move to Spain before the end of his career.
The Argentine has proved a transformative signing for the Reds since his arrival in the summer of 2023. Signed from Brighton for €42 million, Mac Allister has been virtually ever-present in Liverpool's engine room.
Last term, he often had to feature in a defensive midfield role due to Liverpool's failure to land an adequate replacement for Fabinho. This season, new coach Arne Slot has been able to unleash Mac Allister further forward due to Ryan Gravenberch's surprising emergence as an elite holding midfielder.

Mac Allister reveals LaLiga dream
Speaking to Madrid-based AS, Mac Allister has admitted that he would love to play in Spain someday. This will, of course, come as a slight worry to Reds fans seeing as though the Argentine was courted by arch-nemesis Real Madrid in 2023-
Los Blancos could potentially be in the market for a midfielder next year due to the expected departure - or retirement - of Luka Modric. Asked whether he could see himself playing in Spain eventually, Mac Allister responded in the affirmative.

"Yes, why not? It's a country I like a lot and have visited several times, and, above all, because of the language and the culture, it's very similar to Argentina," he said.
"I would definitely like to play in Spain one day. But right now, I'm very comfortable at Liverpool and I don't think about what might happen in the future."
