Arsenal fan and media personality Piers Morgan has expressed his admiration for Chelsea star Cole Palmer, describing the 22-year-old as a “brilliant” player he would love to see in a Gunners shirt.
Morgan’s comments come in the wake of Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Fulham, a result that further dented their hopes of clinching their first Premier League title in over two decades. The stalemate left Arsenal six points adrift of leaders Liverpool, who also hold a game in hand due to their postponed Merseyside derby against Everton.
The result reignited discussions about Arsenal’s striking options, with Morgan criticising manager Mikel Arteta’s reluctance to sign a proven centre-forward.

Since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in the summer of 2023 for £40 million, Palmer has emerged as one of the Premier League’s standout talents. The England international, capped 11 times, has contributed 36 goals and 21 assists in 62 appearances for the Blues.
Despite Morgan’s wishes, a move for Palmer appears highly unlikely. The versatile attacking midfielder, who can also play as a winger, is under contract with Chelsea until 2033 and reportedly happy at Stamford Bridge.

Following Arsenal’s draw at Craven Cottage, Morgan didn’t hold back in his criticism of Arteta, urging the Spaniard to address the team’s lack of firepower in the January transfer window.

“Terrible result,” Morgan wrote on X. “Arteta’s refusal to buy a top striker is yet again coming back to haunt us. Get your chequebook out in January @m8arteta – please!”
Cole Palmer is brilliant.
Would love him at Arsenal.

Last month, Arteta dismissed claims that Arsenal lack a traditional centre-forward akin to Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, suggesting the current squad is capable of meeting the club’s ambitions. However, calls for reinforcements have only grown louder.
Former Arsenal defender William Gallas has also urged the club to prioritize a striker in January but is skeptical about their chances of landing Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres, who has attracted interest from several top clubs.
