Manchester United have been fancied to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
The Red Devils currently have Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee as their main strikers and the duo have scored five times under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Despite this, the club have been backed to land a marquee marksman and reports claim that United could pursue a surprise deal for Osimhen at the turn of the year.
The Nigerian star is presently on loan with Galatasaray in the Turkish top-flight, but he has a break clause to cut short his contract in the upcoming transfer window.
Napoli agreed to reduce Osimhen's release clause to €75m and it is claimed that United could be prepared to pay the same figure with staggered payments.
Chelsea have also been credited with an interest in the Nigeria international, who has netted 10 goals and provided three assists for Galatasaray this campaign.
