Nottingham Forest might have just beaten Manchester United at Old Trafford but there is no time for the Reds to get too carried away.
Nuno Espirito Santo hailed Chris Wood after he became Forest’s all-time record goalscorer in the Premier League and Saturday was a day that will live long in the memory.
The Forest head coach was hailed by Jamie Redknapp after the victory and next up is a home game against Aston Villa who have the same number of points from 15 games as the Reds this season.
Although the current crop are producing the goods on the pitch, it won’t be too long until the transfer window opens and Forest will be hoping to do a little bit of business.
The links will start in the coming weeks and it does feel as though Forest will be targeting the same types of players as they did in the summer and getting the recruitment right is a must.

Nottingham Forest want Thelo Aasgaard
According to Alan Nixon from The Sun, Forest are looking at a deal for the 22-year-old who currently plays for League One outfit Wigan Athletic.
The attacking midfielder is busy playing alongside Dale Taylor who is on loan at the Latics from Forest for the 2024/25 campaign.
Aasgaard has made 21 appearances for Wigan this season, scoring seven goals including five strikes in League One.

The Liverpool-born player who represents Norway under-21s on the international stage has played largely in the number 10 role this season but he can play anywhere in the final third.
Aasgaard would be one for the future at Forest
At 22-years-old, it’s hard to imagine that Forest would sign Aasgaard and immediately play him regularly in the Premier League.
He would be behind Morgan Gibbs-White for starters and the chances of him playing wouldn’t be forthcoming on a regular basis.
As a result, this one does feel like a deal for the future but that doesn’t mean Forest should be shy in getting this one over the line.
Aasgaard has come through the ranks with Wigan and as a versatile performer, he could be an asset for the Reds in years to come.
Given the Latics’ financial situation, he might not cost a fortune and although improving the first team is a priority, that doesn’t mean Forest shouldn’t remain invested in the future.
Aasgaard was called ‘dangerous’ by Shaun Maloney earlier this season and the Wigan boss certainly won’t want to lose his star man next month.
Forest, however, might have other ideas…
