Julen Lopetegui needs to take Tomas Soucek at half-time of the West Ham clash against Wolves on Monday night.

The Spaniard is in very real danger of the sack and if things do not improve, the board will have no choice but to act at full-time.

The Hammers have struggled to create telling chances in the game on 9 December at the London Stadium.

Lucas Paqueta must come on for Tomas Soucek and play in midfield for West Ham

There has been nobody in the team to look up and play those killer balls and Soucek’s presence in midfield has mainly been off the ball as he’s offered nothing on it.

Leaving your arguably most creative player on the bench in Lucas Paqueta when your job is on the line is suicidal, to say the least.

Soucek has struggled to make anything in possession, completing a meagre seven passes with a pass accuracy of a dismal 58 per cent, per Sofascore.

Tomas Soucek has been bullied in the air against Wolves

Having a presence in midfield is crucial, but there is Edson Alvarez so Soucek can be taken off for Paqueta who will offer much more going forward.

Soucek, who’s usually known for his prowess in the air has lost six out of the seven attempted aerial duels so it’s hard to see what he’s bringing to the table for the Hammers.

If Lopetegui does not act quickly, it could be the Czech Republic midfielder who results in him being sacked.
