Manchester United fans will be astonished by Real Madrid’s assessment of Diogo Dalot in their latest recruitment meeting.
Manchester United‘s form has been inconsistent since Rúben Amorim took over as manager last month. In his first five games in charge, the Reds have secured two wins, one draw, and two losses.
Although the results have been uneven, Amorim is using this period to thoroughly evaluate his squad and identify players who align with his long-term vision for the team.

Diogo Dalot has started four out of the five games in the defensive line for Amorim but there are starting to be rumours over his future.
Real Madrid assess Dalot transfer
Recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid have expressed interest in Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.
While Trent Alexander-Arnold remains their primary target, Dalot is reportedly a strong option for the Spanish club, with contact already made with his representatives during Erik ten Hag’s tenure at Old Trafford.
Dalot featured in 50 matches for United last season, standing out as a consistent performer in a turbulent campaign for the team.
However, the Portuguese defender has been far from his best so far this season, and doesn’t look comfortable in the new left wingback role under Amorim.
A new report from GiveMeSport has explained that Real Madrid believe an offer in the region of £45 million could convince United to sell Dalot, despite Amorim’s reluctance to sell him.
It was also added that in recent recruitment meetings within the Spanish club, Dalot’s leadership and versatility have both been flagged as positives.
Fans have very different opinion of Dalot right now
The defender has regularly played in both fullback positions at Old Trafford over the last two years, showing that versatility that Madrid have identified.
However, ironically, Dalot has been often criticised for his performances when he isn’t playing on the right side, suggesting that the versatility isn’t a major plus, and some fans also argue that he doesn’t show enough leadership qualities.
The Portuguese defender seems to be the most recent target for many supporters and some would be happy to see him leave despite winning the club’s Player of the Year award a matter of months ago.
But his role does seem less defined under Amorim’s new system and an offer upwards of £45 million could mean the club can reinvest in other areas of the squad.
Ultimately, as the report also states, Amorim wants time to judge his current squad. We’re only five games into his tenure and Dalot has mainly played on the left side. Things could change in the coming months but Madrid will likely be following him closely.
