Man City now want to sign 24yo United target, ready to pay 'significant sums' - report

Manchester City have joined Manchester United in the pursuit of Juventus star Andrea Cambiaso, according to Tuttojuve journalist Mirko Di Natale.

The Italy international was linked with the Red Devils in the last transfer window, but he ended up signing a new long-term contract with the Bianconeri.

This has not stopped speculation over his future. Di Natale claims that City are monitoring him and would be prepared to pay ‘significant sums’ for his services.

United are also highlighted as one of his admirers. The Bianconeri have not set a price for the 24-year-old as they consider him as ‘unsellable’ at the moment.

Red Devils unlikely to land Cambiaso from Juventus

Cambiaso is predominantly a left-back by trade, but he can operate from the opposite end too as he is two-footed.

He has been brilliant for the Turin giants this campaign with four goal contributions from 20 games.

Cambiaso has also completed 91 percent of his passes in Serie A with four recoveries and 1.5 tackles on average.

The former Genoa man has likewise impressed with his work rate and duel-winning ability.

His attacking and defensive attributes would be ideal for manager Ruben Amorim, who is eyeing a new left wing-back.

He could easily operate in both wing-back roles, but we simply don’t see a deal happening next year.

Cambiaso is valued at £25 million by Transfermarkt, but the Bianconeri could demand a hefty price.

With the defender contracted until June 2029, the Italian heavyweights may not contemplate his sale in the near future.
