**Norwich City's under-18s made the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with a dramatic 4-3 win over Brentford at Carrow Road.**

Goals from one-game first-teamer Elliot Myles (2), La'Sean Sealey and Finlay Corke sealed an important victory for Adam Atey and Greg Crane's side, the young Canaries fighting off a late Bees comeback to secure safe passage to the next stage.

City's Lloyd Ofori-Manteaw had the first real chance of the game, finding a clear opening but taking enough time to allow visiting goalkeeper Connor Wolfheimer to deny him.

The hosts continued to dominate, however, and by the 18th minute they had the lead. Myles showed his quality when he took down Vatan Ozcan's cross, firing into the far corner with what's supposed to be his weaker left foot.

Just three minutes later it was two, with Myles finding a way to top his earlier strike. This time he started the move and finished it, exchanging passes with Sealey before beating multiple defenders and lashing home to double the lead.

But Brentford were back in it before long, and they appeared to have got the memo on impressive goals. Otis Honor might not quite have matched Myles' strikes, but there was little wrong with the dipping volley that beat Henry Bullen.

On the brink of half time, they were level. Much has been made of City's set-piece weakness at senior level, and that appears to have infected the academy too. Matas Klimas headed a corner down, the ball bouncing off Michael McSorley and just over the line.

The feeling going into the break wasn't a great one for the home crowd, but their team were back in the lead less than six minutes into the second period. Sealy and Myles switched roles at the River End, the latter again slaloming beyond his opponents to set the former up for a tidy finish.

City restored their two-goal lead just after the hour mark, Ofori-Manteaw driving forward and setting up Corke for the sixth goal of the game.

Michael McSorley made things interesting when he fired in from 25 yards with 16 minutes left, but Brentford couldn't find a way back and Norwich held on to make the last 32.

They'll play their fourth-round tie next month, with all games to be completed by January 18 2025.
