West Ham 2-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers: Player Ratings

West Ham 2-1 Wolves

Fabianski:6 Very little to do in the first half as West Ham dominated possession.

Wan Bissaka:7 Amazing how advanced he was early in game. Played very well until Wolves equaliser when he was left isolated. My favourite summer signing.

Mavropanos:8 Early interception thwarted Strand Larson and covered Kilman well on 15 mins. Blazed over from six yards following a succession of corners. Justified his selection.

Kilman:6 Forced a corner with a header after joining the attack from open play.

West Ham 2-1 Wolves: Former Wolves captain didn’t have too much to do.

Emerson:5 Got a yellow card in the first half which will rule him out of the Premier League game against Bournemouth. Not his best game.

Alvarez:6 Dangerously caught in possession early in the second half.

Soucek:7 Uninvolved until he scored with a looping header from the back post following Bowen’s in-swinging corner. Gave everything.

Soler:7 Had a good shot well blocked following an amazing chipped pass from Summerville. Played some neat passes but picked up a silly booking. Justified his start ahead of Paqueta.

Kudus:6 His bending shot was forced wide by Johnston. Got the ball in the back of the net twice but the goals were ruled out for offside.

Summerville:7 Incredibly sharp and fast, the Dutchman produced some wonderful dribbles. Constantly hacked down and targeted. Drew three cards in Wolves players who systematically fouled him.

Bowen:9 Top class. Forced a save in the 22nd minute with a low shot. Did well as a makeshift striker but certainly not his best position. Great corner for Soucek’s opener. Scored a wonderful goal in the 71st minute as he cut in from the right hand side and curled a delicious left foot shot into the bottom of the Wolves net to make it 2-1.

Substitutes

Paqueta:5 On for Soler in the 63rd minute. Usual tricks and flicks on display

Ings:6 72nd min sub for the excellent Summerville. His neat backheel deserved an assist.

Todibo: Part of a triple substitution in the 86th min for Kudus

Cresswell: Subbed for Emerson as Lopetegui looked to ensure victory and his own job.

Rodriguez: on for Alvarez
