Ruben Amorim is still learning about his Manchester United players but seems to have taken a liking to one promising young player.
Ruben Amorim’s job at Manchester United was never going to be a quick fix.
Not only have United been lacking in quality, consistency and mentality for years now but Amorim was also bringing a totally new style and system.
The 4-0 thrashing of Everton was a high point but losing 3-2 to Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening was major low.
Nobody is blaming Amorim at this point but Rio Ferdinand has branded United’s defeat a ‘shambles’ as more points were dropped at Old Trafford.
January moves seem a little unlikely and United will need to be patient as Amorim looks to settle down in Manchester.

Manchester United talent now unavailable
Amorim is forming his opinion on United players but certainly seems to fancy Amad Diallo.
The Ivorian has played five times under Amorim and has already racked up four assists.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Amad is known as a winger but has featured as a wing back under Amorim – and has impressed whilst doing so.
United paid £19million rising to £37million for Amad in 2021 and waited a while for him to make a real impact.
A loan spell with Sunderland in the 2022-23 season really helped Amad and the Black Cats have maintained their admiration.
The Mirror (08/12, p67) report that Sunderland were hoping to take Amad on loan for the second half of the season.
Regis Le Bris is chasing promotion to the Premier League and were ‘planning an ambitious bid’ to bring Amad back to Wearside.
Amad wasn’t a key player under Erik ten Hag but Amorim’s arrival has ended Sunderland’s hopes with the 22-year-old now playing a prominent role.
No chance of Ruben Amorim letting Amad Diallo go
Amad is here to stay at United and the mere notion of a January loan deal now sounds preposterous.
Amorim has made Amad a key part of his early setup at United and that looks set to continue for the foreseeable future.
Speaking earlier in December, Amorim praised Amad as an ‘explosive’ player, adding that he is ‘big in talent’ if not in size.
Amorim has also praised Amad’s improvement defensively, already seeing development in this new wing back role.
It’s clear that Amorim is a big fan of Amad and Sunderland simply have no chance of luring him back to the Stadium of Light any time soon.
