The New York Knicks weren't pleased with how the team performed in their weekend loss to the Detroit Pistons. In their second straight contest on the road, they responded in an impressive way.
Getting Karl-Anthony Towns back on the court certainly helps.
Towns joined Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges to record over 20 points each in New York's 113-108 win over the Toronto Raptors Monday evening north of the border.
New York jumped out to an early 34-27 first-quarter lead thanks to their normal efficient scoring on the offensive end. The Knicks also got an improved defensive effort on the side of the ball while holding Toronto to 44% shooting from the field.
In another contest against his former team, third-overall pick R.J. Barrett recorded 30 points against the team that drafted him back in the 2019 draft.

Barrett also was just one of four players to put up double digits in points but lost Scottie Barnes to an injury late in the contest.
The Knicks did get their own scare at one point in the second half, though, when Brunson left the contest with a twisted ankle but did return to the contest while leading New York to a +8 fourth quarter swing that knocked gave the team their 15th win of the season.
The Knicks will be back on the court Wednesday night in the Knockout Round of the NBA Cup against the Atlanta Hawks.
