Liverpool could reportedly be handed an opportunity to sign Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams as Barcelona's attack is currently stocked up. The 22-year-old Euro 2024 winner was heavily linked with a move to the La Liga leaders after his impressive 2023/24 breakthrough season at Bilabo, though Barcelona decided to sign RB Leipzig's Dani Olmo instead.
But despite links to Premier League clubs - including Liverpool and Arsenal - it had been expected that Williams would end up at the Camp Nou at some point in the future. According to reports in Spain, though, that might not be the case. In fact, Fichajes claim that after starting the season so well with Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski in attack, there is "little chance" of Williams joining the club in the summer.

However, it is claimed Williams will not stay at Bilbao, which opens the door to a move to Liverpool or French champions Paris Saint-Germain. The Spain international signed a contract extension with his boyhood club last December, meaning he is contracted with Bilbao until June 2027.
Alexis Mac Allister, meanwhile, has admitted he could see himself playing in Spain in the future but insisted his current focus is on life at Anfield. The Argentina international joined the Reds from Brighton & Hove Albion in a £35m deal last June and has been a key part of the Reds' success in the 18 months since.
Speaking to Spanish publication AS, though, the 2022 World Cup winner admitted he would be open to playing in Spain at some point in his career.
"Yes, why not? It's a country I like a lot and I've visited it several times, and, above all, because of the language and the culture, it's very similar to Argentina," he said.
"I would definitely like to play in Spain one day. But right now, I'm very comfortable at Liverpool and I don't think about what might happen in the future."
