Van Dijk reject Liverpool’s latest contract offer

There are expectations among the fans and staff at Anfield Stadium that the Dutchman will eventually pen down a new contract at L4; however, following the latest developments, it is to be seen how the talks go ahead.
While Van Dijk has rejected the initial offer, this shows that the club remains in discussions with his representatives for a new contract; however, given his age, complemented by the stakes involved to replace him, the chiefs at L4 need to ensure that they don’t jeopardise their long-term planning by overcommitting to an ageing player and putting a halt to a position in the lineup while also committing high wages for a player who could start declining at any time.
At the moment, the Reds have to balance their act as they look to manage the current demands by preparing for the future.
