The economic lever that could tempt Barcelona to make Liverpool raid

Mohamed Salah continues delivering on the pitch, while Liverpool remain reluctant on advancing talks over a new deal with him.

This opens the door for a third party to enter the fray, and one might just be getting ready as January comes around.

The economic lever that could bring Barça to the table for Mo Salah

The ECONOMIC lever that could bring Barça to the table for Mo Salah

As reported by Liverpool Echo, Barcelona could renew their interest in a free summer move for Liverpool forward Mo Salah if their recent economic lever goes through.

Barça’s financial struggles, further compounded by their tendency to splash big in the market anyway, has taken a fresh turn as the Blaugrana aim to raise in the region of €200 million by selling rights for the VIP seating at the (Spotify) Camp Nou.

The current leaders of LaLiga are also tipped to move on some big earners in the coming months, with Frenkie de Jong again linked with an exit. This would leave Barça in a position in which they could offer Salah a better short-term contract, especially if Liverpool remain reluctant on offering the 32-year-old a longer deal.

The veteran Egypt international remains one of the most prolific forwards in Europe this season with 15 goals and 12 assists in 21 games across all competitions.

Could this happen?

Whether Barcelona should continue going after expensive ventures is irrelevant; the undeniable reality is that under Joan Laporta they will continue going after big names, and Salah is big as a name gets right now.

Despite their predicament, Barcelona much like Real Madrid are considered the pinnacle for players and managers, so the prospect of moving there can be considered appealing for Salah, even if it were to be for a couple of years.

The Saudi contract waiting for him at the end of his European career will outright offer Salah more than what Barcelona and Liverpool could offer him combined. It just remains a matter of how long he wants to remain in Europe for.
