Legendary Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has issued a stark reminder to Arsenal and other Premier League contenders not to rule out Manchester City in the race for this season’s title. Speaking ontalkSPORT, Seaman emphasised that four teams—Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea—are genuine contenders for the trophy.
Seaman’s assessment contrasts with recent statements by Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca, who publicly dismissed his team’s title chances. Additionally, Manchester City’s struggles this season have led many pundits to write off their title hopes.
Currently, Liverpool sit atop the Premier League table with 35 points and a game in hand over Chelsea, Arsenal, and City, who occupy second, third, and fourth place, respectively. Chelsea have accumulated 31 points, Arsenal 29, and City 27, with all three teams having played 15 matches.

Despite Manchester City’s dip in form, Seaman believes their pedigree makes them a formidable force. “You look at Man City, OK, the run they are on is not the best,” Seaman remarked. “But every team up there, at some stage of the season, has a little blip or a wobble. Liverpool haven’t had theirs yet.”

The former Arsenal star acknowledged City’s struggles but remains convinced they can rebound. “City have obviously had quite a big one. Even Arsenal, we had a couple of games where we should’ve won and didn’t. Chelsea—they’re sneaking in there. Well, not sneaking anymore, as much as their manager wants to play it down. They are in it,” he said.

Seaman also highlighted the potential impact of City’s returning players. “When they get their players back… OK, they won’t get Rodri back, but they’ll be strong. They’re just lacking confidence at the moment, but that will come, so beware.”
Turning his attention to Arsenal, David Seaman praised their consistency, urging them to maintain their momentum. “With Arsenal, the consistency is there. It’s about not getting beat. The three teams below Liverpool will be hoping they have a little wobble,” he added.
