Marc Cucurella slips, Cole Palmer rescues
Albeit the result, it was the worst possible start for Chelsea against Tottenham Hotspur. The left-back ended up slipping inside 5 mins of the game. Spurs would capitalize and Dominic Solanke would open the scoring. Just minutes later, the same thing happened again. Cucurella would slip again and this time Dejan Kulusevski would score. Almost 15 minutes into the game and the Blues found themselves behind by 2. The left-back quickly seen changing his shoes midway through the game. His wrong choice of boots almost ended up costing the game to the Blues.
What happened after?
Following the two big errors of Marc Cucurella, Cole Palmer would score twice and seek some redemption for the full-back. In truth, it was the boots that caused the goals. As after the change of boots, the left-back did a great job throughout the game. But he still has to take the blame for this one. Choosing the appropriate boots for the game is a player’s responsibility after all. In the end, as per goal, the full-back would post a picture of the boots tossed into the bin while apologizing to the fans. If not for the win, the left-back would have had big problems coming his way for sure.
