Chelsea and Manchester City star in our round-up of the freshest new Premier League transfer rumours.
It’s time for Tuesday’s round-up of the biggest new Premier League transfer rumours – and before we get to news concerning Manchester City, Liverpool and plenty more, we’ll start with a blockbuster rumour doing the round which may worry quite a few Chelsea fans.
The story, which has popped up across the internet but which started with Spanish outlet Fichajes, is that Real Madrid have identified none other than Cole Palmer as a target, and have him “in their sights as a long-term investment.”
Chelsea, as you might imagine, would need a “substantial sum” to part with a player who only just this summer signed one of the lengthiest contracts in football history and through whom pretty much all of their attacking football flows – but his age and technical quality means he also fits the bill for Real’s operation.
The 3AM Verdict: This rumour has gone around a fair amount over the last 24 hours, and we bring it up mostly to shut it down. The source, Fichajes, is notoriously unreliable and there’s absolutely no detail here about discussions, finances, timelines or anything else. If Real have had any internal discussions, we doubt they’ve gone any further, and suspect that such a move would be impossible in the foreseeable future. Chelsea fans – don’t worry, in our opinion.
Man City monitor Serie A man
Word from the Italian peninsula now – Tutto Juve (via Sport Witness) reckon that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is an admirer of versatile full-back Andrea Cambiaso and is still monitoring him with a view to a future move despite the Italian signing a new deal with Juventus just this summer.
Cambiaso, who is 24 and can play down either side, is now under contract until 2029 and Juve don’t want to sell him, but City have the kind of money that can change minds and apparently Guardiola “likes him very much”, while the club would be “willing to invest a significant sum.” No word on how much that might be.
The 3AM Verdict: Again, a lack of detail makes us sceptical – when reports start mentioning figures and have details of alleged negotiations, it starts to sound a little more likely that they’re true. Cambiaso is a Guardiola type of player, mind you, a technical player who certainly seems like someone who would fit in at Manchester City.

Four fighting over Scottish starlet
Caught Offside’s sources reckon that Liverpool could offer around €10m (£8.3m) for the teenage midfielder, who has made 55 appearances for his club at senior level and played for the Scottish Under-21s. It certainly sounds like they reckon the Reds are barging their way to the front of the queue, at least.
The 3AM Verdict: That sounds like a plausible transfer fee for a very talented young player, and a plausible list of suitors, too. He’s one for the future, but that’s the sort of money that teenage prospects go for these days. One to keep an eye on as he develops.
