The Dallas Cowboys suffered a brutal 27-20 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14, falling to 5-8 on the season.
During the "Monday Night Football" game at AT&T Stadium, Cowboys star DeMarvion Overshown went down with an apparent knee injury in the fourth quarter.
Overshown left the game in the final quarter and did not return to the matchup, leaving the media to question the nature of his injury.
Following the game, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy commented on his knee injury, mentioning it's "of a serious nature."
NFL reporter Erin Andrews then responded to the news, showing disbelief at the Overshown injury update.
"Nooooo," Andrews said.
Overshown entered the Week 14 matchup with one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, five sacks and 84 tackles on the season.
The 24-year-old was having a breakout year with the Cowboys. Dallas originally selected him in the third round of the 2023 draft, but Overshown missed his rookie season after suffering a torn ACL during the 2023 preseason.
Following the game, Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons spoke with the media, sharing an emotional response to the injury.
While Parsons was commenting on Overshown's injury, the Cowboys star was fighting back tears.
"He's like my little bro," Parsons said. "He don't deserve that, he really don't. To understand what he's going to have to go through. He's so talented, and that was the year he was having. I really don't think it's fair."
