Alexis Mac Allister has been impressed by Arne Slot
Alexis Mac Allister has disclosed the key change Arne Slot has made at Liverpool since replacing Jurgen Klopp.
Slot arrived at Anfield in the summer to take over from Klopp, who called time on nine years in charge of the Reds. It has been a remarkable first season for the Dutchman, with Liverpool sitting top of both the Premier League and Champions League.
To make those achievements all the more impressive, Slot has used basically the same squad Klopp led to a third place finish last season. Federico Chiesa was the sole summer arrival, but even the Italian has barely played.
By contrast, Mac Allister has been a key man for Slot, featuring 21 times in all competitions. And the Argentine has credited his new boss for bringing patience to Liverpool's build-up play this season.

"We were coming from a long process with Jürgen Klopp, where the main ideas were already established. Basically, Arne Slot has not come to change everything, but to add his methodology to what we were already working on," Mac Allister told AS.
"The biggest difference, or what we have added, has been patience when we have the ball. That is the biggest difference at the moment. Now, we have more of the ball, which allows us to create more scoring chances.
"The team feels very comfortable and is doing very well, as seen against Real Madrid in the Champions League and against Manchester City in the Premier League. That makes you more confident and makes us see that we can compete against any team."

Mac Allister's praise comes just a few days after Slot was shorlisted for the Premier League's Manager of the Month award for November. Liverpool won all three of their Premier League games in that period.
He is going up against Wolves ' Gary O'Neil and Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler for the award. It also comes after Liverpool slipped up against Newcastle, being held to a 3-3 draw at St James' Park last Wednesday.
The Reds had been 3-2 up entering the closing stages before Fabian Schar pounced on a defensive error. But Slot was still pleased with how his side shaped up against the Magpies.
"I've said many times already to the other media there were moments in the game where you thought if we could come away from here with a draw it would be a good result, but those moments were mainly in the first half," he said afterwards.
"In the second half, especially after we scored for 1-1, I thought we were really impressive. We created so many opportunities, good chances. Then, one minute before the end being 3-2 up, it feels like a disappointment to drop two points."
