Ange Postecoglou is one of a host of Premier League managers under increasing pressure to turn their clubs’ situations around or else risk being given the boot.
At this rate, it remains to be seen if the Australian will make it through the festive period and see in the new year at the helm of Tottenham Hotspur.
The North London outfit have claimed only one win in their last seven matches, remarkably overturning Manchester City in an unprecedented 4-0 victory at the Etihad before drawing with Fulham and losing to Bournemouth in their subsequent league outings.
On Sunday evening, they took an early two-goal lead inside 15 minutes at home to rivals Chelsea before capitulating in true Spurs style and falling to a 4-3 defeat. The result left them 11th-placed in the table – and Postecoglou sweating over where his future lies.

On December 19, he will come head-to-head with Ruben Amorim for the first time since he took the reins at Old Trafford in a Carabao Cup quarter-final tie down South.
Amorim finds himself navigating a painstakingly similar task as his counterpart, having taken on the notoriously impossible job of putting United back on their pedestal – something each manager has failed to do post-Sir Alex Ferguson.
As if Postecoglou wasn’t feeling the heat enough after the weekend’s showdown, he has now learned that he’s set to be without stalwart defender Cristian Romero for around six weeks. Argentine reporter Gaston Edul confirmed the ‘unbelievable’ World Cup winner sustained a muscle injury and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines amidst the most hectic period of the fixture schedule.
Romero returned from a previous injury to start against Chelsea but was only able to feature for 15 minutes before being withdrawn. Similarly, Micky van de Ven was also cleared to play despite just recovering from a setback, and he, too, limped off with 11 minutes to go on the night.
