Galaxy S25 launch date may have been revealed, and it’s not far

One UI 7.0 isn't the only thing keeping Samsung busy these days. The South Korean firm is also busy with launch preparations for its next flagship phone. Previous leaks claimed the Galaxy S25 would be launched in January, but a new leak provides more accurate information.

Galaxy S25 launch date may have been revealed

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S25 on January 22, 2025 (Wednesday). It lines up with a previous report. The tipster didn't reveal any other information regarding the launch event. Samsung will likely call it Galaxy Unpacked 2025, which could be held in the USA.

It isn't clear if this is the announcement date or when these phones will be available in stores. If it is the former, the Galaxy S25 is launching a few days later compared to its predecessor. The most advertised color of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to be blue.

The company is expected to unveil three high-end phones—Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra—at the event. All three phones will likely come with Android 15 (One UI 7) pre-installed and receive up to seven major Android OS updates.

The Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ are expected to have largely the same design as their predecessor. The Galaxy S25 Ultra reportedly features curved corners, a departure from previous-generation Galaxy S Ultra phones. Curved corners could offer a more comfortable design and better ergonomics.

All three phones are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which is expected to offer massive improvements in CPU and GPU performance. Some Galaxy S25 units with the Exynos 2500 chip were spotted, but it isn't clear if Samsung will use the chip in retail units.

They could have 12GB RAM and at least 256GB internal storage, and the higher-end variants of the Galaxy S25+ and the Galaxy S25 Ultra could have 16GB RAM.

The Galaxy S25 and the Galaxy S25+ are expected to feature the same cameras as the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24+, respectively.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to have a 200MP primary rear camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. It could continue using a titanium frame, similar to its predecessor.

The upcoming phones could have stereo speakers, an IP68 rating, Qi2 charging, and an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. According to existing reports, all three devices will come equipped with 5G, UWB, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC.
