Manchester City have been drawn against Ipswich Town or AFC Bournemouth in the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
Ipswich and Bournemouth’s third-round tie was postponed on Sunday 8 December due to storm Darragh, but their clash has been rescheduled for Sunday 15 December.
The winner will take on City on the weekend of 11 and 12 January which means it will be Gareth Taylor‘s side’s first game of 2025.
Ipswich are currently top of the FA WPL Premier Division South, the third tier of the women’s pyramid.
Bournemouth, City’s other potential opponent, are at the summit of the FA Women’s National League Division One South West table, the fourth tier of the women’s game in England.

It’s City’s first taste of domestic cup competitions this season with our involvement in the Conti Cup not until the quarter-finals due to our place in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
The draw, held in East London, was broadcast live on the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Youtube channel with a live audience in attendance for the first time.
In last season’s edition of the FA Cup, City were edged out on penalties by Tottenham Hotspur.
Mary Fowler’s early strike was cancelled out by a late added-time goal by Beth England. The hosts went on to win the shootout 4-3 as City bowed out in the quarter-finals.
