Martin Keown seriously impressed by Chelsea player who 'looks unrecognisable' for them

There are several Chelsea players that have been able to elevate their levels this season, which is a credit to Enzo Maresca’s influence at the club.

Enzo Maresca has made a phenomenal impact in the last few months since he took charge as the Chelsea manager in the summer.

The fact that the Blues sit second in the Premier League table is proof that things are gelling. On top of that, several individuals are outperforming what they did last year.

Chelsea supporters have started chanting Maresca’s name because he’s quickly won them over with his charisma and decision-making.

Martin Keown says Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez looks reborn

Martin Keown has praised Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez for rediscovering his form recently.

The 23-year-old central midfielder is becoming a greater attacking threat for the Blues, scoring and assisting goals much more frequently.

Keown told talkSPORT (10:40am, 9 December): “[Enzo] Fernandez looks unrecognisable. Where everyone was saying he’s a World Cup winner, is he really? Now he’s looking like one, scoring goals from midfield and joining in the attacks.”

John Obi Mikel is impressed by the form of Chelsea’s Fernandez and thinks Maresca deserves a lot of credit. The head coach did pull the Argentine midfielder out of the starting line-up earlier in the season, which has clearly lit a fire in him and led to this purple patch of form in recent weeks.

It’s been great to see the South American star find the kind of form he usually shows on the international stage.

Jamie Redknapp says Fernandez looks “exceptional” in Chelsea’s midfield, especially since he’s been given the licence to roam forward and join in with the attacks.

Enzo Fernandez on fire right now

Chelsea supporters will be hoping that their in-form midfielder can continue this golden touch during the busy festive schedule.

Here is a look at Fernandez’s impact in his most recent Blues appearances:
