Over the past few weeks, the Brazilian media have covered Nottingham Forest’s interest in Corinthians star Yuri Alberto.
The Reds are looking to sign the attacker in the winter market and are making efforts in their transfer pursuit.
On Monday, UOL reported Nottingham Forest have made contact with the Brazilian club for the 23-year-old. It was also stated Corinthians have informed the Premier League side that offers below €20m won’t be entertained.
PL Brasil provides more on the English club’s efforts to try and sign Alberto in the winter market. Corinthians, for their part, have ‘little optimism’ of retaining him beyond the next window.
The Premier League side are said to be keen because he fits well into Nuno Espírito Santo’s system. The outlet has found out from a Nottingham Forest source that they have been in talks with the Brazilian’s entourage for ‘some time’.
Memphis Depay and Rodrigo Garro arrived at Corinthians earlier this year. Alberto still starred, managing 31 goals and seven assists this year and that has impressed the English club.
There were concerns whether Alberto could adjust to the needs of English football, but PL Brasil state the Reds believe his physique would be a ‘great fit’ for the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest, however, are still concerned over his poor performances in the first half of this season and limited experience in Europe.
Despite being in regular contact with Alberto’s entourage, Nuno’s side haven’t yet made an official offer. It seems like they want to be certain before tabling a bid in January.
