Erling Haaland and Vinicius Jr are arguably the two best forwards in the world.
Since his time at Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has arguably been the most devastating goalscorer in the world.
Vinicius, on the other hand has perhaps been the most in-form winger for several years now.
Vinicius’ reaction to losing the Ballon d’Or to Rodri about working harder than ever indicates that he is ready to propel his name to be regarded as the outright best player in the world.
Much like the Manchester City marskman, the Brazilian’s highest-placed finish for football’s most prestigious award is second place.
Haaland has showcased this season that regardless of City’s form, he remains an elite striker, leading the Premier League goalscoring charts alongside Mohamed Salah (13) so far.

Sergio Aguero says Vinicius Jr is better than Erling Haaland
Comparing Haaland and Vinicius to each other could be considered a strange parallel as they are two completely different players.
The two-time Premier League winner is an out-and-out striker while the Real Madrid superstar is a winger.
However, when quizzed about whether Haaland or Vinicius is the better player while speaking to content creator With Khaled, Sergio Aguero replied: “Vini.”
It seems like the Manchester City legend is a huge fan of the two-time Champions League winner, naming him as the superior player over the likes of Rodri, Kylian Mbappe, Mohamed Salah, Eden Hazard and Julian Alvarez as well.
Aguero felt Vinicius deserved the Ballon d’Or over Rodri as well.
However, Aguero sent a message to Rodri after he was nominated for the award as well, claiming he deserved the recognition after a “perfect year.”
Aguero called Haaland a ‘crazy kid’
However, the Argentine is a massive admirer of Haaland’s as well.
After the Norwegian scored five goals in Manchester City’s 7-0 thrashing of RB Leipzig in the Champions League, Sergio Aguero said on Twitch: “This crazy guy [Haaland] has scored five goals…how crazy this kid is.”
“Pep [Guardiola] subbed him out on 63rd minute? I would’ve left him on the field because we don’t know, this kid could’ve scored six or seven goals.”
Haaland reckons Aguero was superior to him as a Manchester City player.
Ultimately, football is a game of opinions and despite Sergio Aguero’s admiration of Vinicius, there is no questioning that he holds the treble-winner in high esteem.
