Paul Pogba interested in Marseille move

Between Paul Pogba (31) and Olympique de Marseille, the interest is reciprocal, according to RMC Sport. The Frenchman, whose doping ban was recently reduced from four years to just 18 months, will be allowed to resume his playing career in March 2025, however, he currently finds himself without a club, having seen his contract with Juventus terminated by mutual consent last month.

Since news broke of his imminent return, Pogba has been heavily linked with a move to Marseille. Former teammate Patrice Evra has been publically lobbying for such a move, whilst France teammate Adrien Rabiot, who made the switch from Juventus to OM in September, “invited” Pogba to join him at the Vélodrome.

RMC Sport understands that Marseille are interested in the former Manchester United midfielder, although no talks have yet been instigated. Frank McCourt has been a big fan of the player since watching him in the semi-finals of Euro 2016 and OM’s owner is open to making these kinds of bets, especially given that it would make Les Phocéens a more visible, mediatised club both in France and across Europe.

Pogba too is interested in a move to Marseille. RMC Sport report that the midfielder would like to play in France and would be open to a move to OM. He is looking to re-earn a place within the France set-up and La Pioche is aware that a move to Roberto De Zerbi’s side would give him a good chance of doing so. It is described as a “difficult” deal, due to the finances, but “not [an] impossible” deal.
