The latest injury news from Arsenal ahead of key clashes in the Champions League, Premier League and Carabao Cup.

Arsenal could well be facing one of the most crucial periods in their season as they chase success on several fronts.

The festive fixture list can prove to be decisive in any season - but there is a feeling this Christmas period could well define how realistic Arsenal’s chances of of securing silverware between now and the end of the season. They’re not looking nearly as robust at the back as they were earlier in the season, with their ongoing defensive injury woes clearly taking their toll.

The week ahead typifies the challenges that lie in wait as the Gunners face Monaco in a Champions League tie, host Everton in a weekend Premier League clash and then entertain Crystal Palace in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup.

Arteta will need his squad to be fit and firing ahead of a trio of home games over the next week - and the Gunners boss will be hoping to receive some positive news on the injury front as several members of his squad continue to work their way back from injuries that have kept them on the sidelines in recent weeks.

So what is the latest injury news and possible return dates from the Emirates Stadium?

Ben White

The former Leeds United and Brighton and Hove Albion defender suffered a knee injury last month and has since undergone surgery. The recovery process is expected to last into March so it seems likely White may not return until the middle of the month when the Gunners are scheduled to face Manchester United and Chelsea in quick succession. Expected return date: Mid-March 2025.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

It has been a frustrating couple of seasons for the Japan international as his attempts to force his way into Arteta’s side have been hampered. A six-minute substitute appearance in a 3-1 win against Southampton is the sum total of Tomiyasu’s involvement so far this season and that could remain the same way for the foreseeable future as it remains unknown when he could return to contention. Expected return date: Unknown.

Riccardo Calafiori

The Italy international has missed the Premier League win against Manchester United and Sunday’s draw at Fulham with what is believed to be a knee injury. Calafiori narrowly missed out on the trip to Craven Cottage and could be in line to make an appearance in the Champions League clash with Monaco. Expected return date: Wednesday night.

Gabriel

A knee injury suffered against West Ham United has kept the Brazilian defender out of Arsenal’s last two Premier League fixtures and there was some talk he could have returned for Wednesday night’s meeting with Monaco. A late fitness test may well be needed and that could mean Saturday’s Premier League home game against Everton is a more realistic target. Expected return date: Mid-December.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Zinchenko was ruled out of Sunday’s draw at Fulham with what was described as a knock - and there is an expectation he will return for the Champions League meeting with Monaco. Expected return date: Wednesday night.
