Why Giants should make serious push for ex-Jets QB Sam Darnold this offseason | NJ.com

Darnold wouldn’t be some cheap option, though. Not at all. Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz expects Darnold to land a deal similar to Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, who signed a three-year, $100 million contract last offseason.

The Giants will have plenty of it to spend this summer ($61.4 million, the 12th most in the NFL, according to Spotrac).

Giants’ latest ‘disappointing’ loss keeps hope of landing No. 1 pick alive | SNY.tv

The Giants must lose out. That’s key. They face the Ravens (8-5), Falcons (6-7), Colts (6-7) and Eagles (11-2) to close out the year. There’s a chance the Eagles are resting their starters in the finale with the No. 2 seed locked up. That’s the only situation of concern. The Giants could surpass the Raiders with a strength of schedule advantage, but the clearer path is with a game advantage. Giants lose out. Raiders win one more.

Raiders, NFL Head Coaching Jobs That Could Be Most Attractive to Deion Sanders | Bleacher Report

This franchise, meanwhile, could be a package deal for Sanders the coach and Sanders the quarterback. Whereas the Jags have a franchise-caliber QB, the Giants boast a potential All-Pro wideout in Malik Nabers who leads a promising, young supporting cast. Solving the offensive line is of critical importance, but a new Sanders-led regime could heavily prioritize the blocking unit. At worst, New York is a very intriguing hypothetical.

One can see why Malik Nabers is frustrated this season

Can't ask for much more from Malik Nabers than this on this rep.

So many times has he gotten open in his rookie season with the #Giants -- he leads the NFL in target per route run rate despite there also being so many examples of plays like this one where he should've gotten it pic.twitter.com/JXa3aMWvI0

2. New York Giants: Cam Ward, QB, Miami. The Hurricanes robbed us of the gift of scouting Cam Ward against college football playoff defenses — the Canes collapsed against Syracuse and blew a 21-point lead to fumble their ticket to the postseason. That does leave Ward's resume more open to interpretation — but here's what we do know: he's unlike Daniel Jones in a few key areas. Ward has a great sense of the rush, which may have been Jones' worst trait.

Ward has also never seen a window he couldn't fit a ball through, for better or for worse. So, as the Giants look to transition into their next era, finding someone like Ward, who has well-placed confidence in his arm, would be a great first step.

Rashod Bateman, Kyle Van Noy Both Practicing After Ravens’ Bye | BaltimoreRavens.com

The Ravens' bye did them good, as wide receiver Rashod Bateman (knee) and outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy (hamstring/back) are both practicing Monday.

Bateman left last Sunday's game against the Eagles with knee soreness, Head Coach John Harbaugh said last week. Van Noy, who is tied for the team lead with eight sacks, missed the Eagles game as he dealt with the injuries that held him out of practice all week.

The only players missing from Monday's Ravens practice following the Week 14 bye are rookie safety Sanoussi Kane (hamstring) and wide receiver Diontae Johnson (suspended).
