“It makes me very happy” – Player ‘enthusiastic’ about impending Brighton move, only official announcement missing

Earlier today, we covered claims from Paraguay which stated Inter Miami’s Diego Gómez is travelling with his agent, Renato Bittar, to complete a move to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The midfielder was pictured at the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport on Monday and will sign a long term deal with the Seagulls.

Another report from Versus states the deal to take the 21-year-old to Brighton has already been closed between all parties.

It’s further claimed that only an official announcement is missing.

Prior to making a trip to England to join Fabian Hürzeler’s side, Nación Media journalist Gustavo Montero had a chat with the Inter Miami player.

Versus relay the Paraguay international’s comments and say he was ‘very cautious’ about giving more information about his impending move to Brighton. At the same time, they state the player was ‘enthusiastic’ about moving to the Premier League.

“It makes me very happy that several European clubs have me in mind, it is something unique to play in the Premier League, it would be a dream come true for me to play in the Premier League,” he said.

With all parties in agreement for the transfer and Gómez travelling to England with his agent, his move to Brighton should go through soon.
