Mohamed Salah still has six months left on his Liverpool deal
Mohamed Salah remains “happy” at Liverpool despite his ongoing contract row, according to team-mate Alexis Mac Allister.
The Egyptian has just six months remaining on his contract with the Reds. He recently admitted that he had not received an offer of renewal from the club, while also claiming that he was closer to leaving Anfield than staying.
That has since changed, with Liverpool tabling a new offer to Salah - albeit he is yet to sign. But now Reds midfielder Mac Allister has given a peak behind the scenes into the dressing room - and just how the forward is feeling as the row continues.
Speaking to AS, he said: “He inspires us a lot, on and off the pitch. He is an example of work and dedication, always looking to give the best of himself. He is a very hard-working person who gives everything to play football.

“On the pitch, you can see: Salah has that personality of always going for more, and when you have him by your side, you know that he is a player who will give you assists or score goals. Hopefully, he can continue like this, because he is one of the most important players for our team.
“Hopefully he can continue next year at Liverpool. I want the negotiations to be able to come to a successful conclusion. He looks happy here; He is a legend of the club.
“It would be ideal if he could finish his career here, but these are very personal decisions and it also depends on the club doing their analysis or making a decision.”
Mac Allister has also opened up on the situations of the Reds' other two contract rebels. Both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk could also leave for nothing in the summer but they have been urged to commit their futures to the Reds.

He added: “Yes, hopefully Trent and Virgil can continue with us along with Salah. Alexander-Arnold, for example, is fundamental as he was seen against Manchester City when he returned from injury. Its quality is enormous.
“I have always said that he was criticized for his defensive role, but I have no doubt that both in defence and in attack he is a differential player. In addition, he is strong and fast which allows him to find that balance between attack and defence. Like Salah, he is in negotiations and hopefully, he can continue in the team.”
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has also shared his thoughts on the ongoing situation. Speaking after Salah scored in the thrilling 3-3 draw with Newcastle, the Dutchman hinted at a longer stay for the Egyptian forward.
He said: "Every time we need Mo Salah he scores a goal. We are hoping and expecting he can continue this for a long time. He was outstanding in the second half, he did many special things for us."
