Premier League champions Manchester City are eyeing one of the newest talents in Spanish football, but are likely to face competition from within the English top-flight.
Talent-spotting from the City Football Group across the continent is nothing new, and that mission has been long-standing across all corners of the globe, but particularly in South America over recent seasons.
Manchester City have directly found plenty of success through the identification of rising talents from that continent, with Julian Alvarez and Gabriel Jesus their most successful purchases, while Claudio Echeverri is set to join from River Plate in January.
Arguably the most successful spot from Europe has been Oleksandr Zinchenko, purchased for just £1.7 million from FC Ufa in Russia, and going on to become a multi-Premier League title-winning player, before being sold to Arsenal in a big-money transfer in 2022.
And the latest mission from Manchester City could see the club turn towards the Spanish game and a rising talent that is also catching the eye of numerous clubs from throughout the Premier League.
According to the information of Spanish outlet Super Deporte, as translated and relayed by Sport Witness, all of Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool are now following the progress of Real Valladolid’s Raul Moro.
It is explained that the plan from any of the Premier League giants would be to either integrate the 22-year-old into their respective squads, or send him out on loan to develop further.
The report claims that the winger would be available for around €10 million, which is considered a ‘high figure’ for La Liga’s Real Valladolid but ‘miniscule’ for any of the Premier League trio.
Rising through numerous professional clubs’ youth ranks, Moro featured at younger age group levels for FC Barcelona, Espanyol, and Lazio, before making his senior professional debut for the Italian club in July 2020 against Juventus.
Several loan moves would follow in order to speed up his development at the senior level of the game including spells with both Real Oviedo and Valladolid, with the latter making their temporary agreement permanent in 2024.
That came after Moro played a significant role in aiding Valladolid with their promotion back into La Liga for the ongoing season, thus issuing the player with the opportunity of a four-year contract at the club.
