"There is always the possibility of controlling a player if you can do it right" - Girona's Michel on plans to stop Mohamed Salah in Liverpool clash

Girona boss Michel has stated that Liverpool's Mohamed Salah can be stopped from scoring with the right defensive tactics. The LaLiga side will host Arne Slot's Liverpool at Estadi Montilivi in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, December 10.

Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah is currently in stellar form. He has scored 15 goals and 12 assists in 21 appearances for the Reds across all competitions. As a result, stopping Mohamed Salah would be an important task for Los Blanquivermells.

Addressing the point, Michel stated in the pre-match press conference that the 32-year-old could be stopped with the right set of defensive tactics. The Girona boss said (via Rousing the Kop):

"Salah is in incredible form but there is always the possibility of controlling a player if you can do it right. The data says that we are a team that defends well, but there are times when we stop doing it, like in transition and that is where Liverpool are the best team in the world."

The Reds are currently unbeaten in the UEFA Champions League and have only conceded one goal in the competition. Arne Slot's side has defeated the likes of Real Madrid (2-0), Bayer Leverkusen (4-0), and RB Leipzig (1-0) without conceding a goal.

At the top of the UEFA Champions League table, the Merseyside club requires only one victory to secure a top-eight finish in the continental competition.

Liverpool interested in signing 18-year-old Scottish midfielder: Reports

Arne Slot's Liverpool are interested in signing Scottish Premiership side Motherwell midfielder Lennon Miller, as per Caught Offside. Apart from the Reds, the likes of Newcastle United, Southhampton, and Brighton & Hove Albion are also interested in signing the Scotsman.

According to the aforementioned report, the Reds can potentially sign the 18-year-old midfielder for €10 million, a fee that would help Motherwell financially. The Reds see Lennon Miller as a promising prospect who can be a future investment.

However, the Seagulls are not far behind the Merseyside outfit in their pursuit of the Scot. Brighton could be a better destination for the 18-year-old because its academy is famous for promoting and developing young talent.

Miller has made 59 appearances for Motherwell's senior team, scoring five goals and providing eight assists.
