Wolves were beaten 2-1 by West Ham United in their latest Premier League game – and Karl Henry was left fuming.
Gary O’Neil is on the brink of the sack after a third straight defeat, although Wolves’ performance last night was far from the worst we’ve seen.
Wolves did create some chances.
But poor defending proved costly once again, and West Ham took all three points to relieve some of the pressure on Julen Lopetegui.
The game was fairly even, but there was frustration for Wolves over some decisions in the game – and former midfielder Karl Henry was left absolutely furious.

Last night’s defeat to West Ham puts O’Neil right up against it.
It seems a question of when and not if he will get sacked, with Johnny Phillips reporting that Wolves are ‘actively seeking replacements’ for O’Neil right now.
O’Neil has struggled badly recently, but the current situation isn’t totally his fault.
And in last night’s game, he did get rather unlucky with a few decisions. Jamie Carragher insisted Santiago Bueno was fouled before West Ham’s second goal, and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde might have had a penalty towards the end.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
The corner that led to the first West Ham goal also shouldn’t have been given.
Taking to X after the game, Karl Henry sent a message that many Wolves fans will echo. He said: “Complete and utter incompetence! The officials have all of the tools they need to see that both challenges are clear fouls.
“There is too much at stake for this kind of low-level refereeing. I feel for GON and the #Wolves team. This is inexcusable!!”
In another message on X, Henry added: “Whatever your view on GON or the current squad, we’ve been shafted tonight. These officials have the fate of football clubs in their hands. Especially when it comes to marginal games. It’s clear, that at times, that responsibility isn’t being taken seriously enough.”
Wolves stung again and it won’t surprise fans
The narrative of the fate of the two managers dominated last night’s game, but Wolves really did get majorly unlucky last night over some decisions.
Wolves ended up losing the game, but the way the defeat ultimately came about will be very tough to take.
West Ham shouldn’t have had a corner for the opening goal, Bueno was fouled by Mavropanos on the second Hammers goal and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was fouled in the box late on which should have resulted in a penalty.
But such ineptitude from the officials will come as no surprise to Wolves fans, who have seen so many decisions go against their side over the last two years.
In the summer Wolves tabled a motion to get VAR scrapped, but ultimately received no support from another other Premier League club. And with every round of fixtures that passes, that seems a bigger and bigger shame.
