Bristol Rovers Women handed dream potential FA Cup away tie at WSL outfit

Bristol Rovers Women will face WSL side Aston Villa in the [FA Cup](https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/all-about/fa-cup) fourth round away from home if they are able to get past Oxford United first.

The Gas were due to face United away from home in the third round last weekend but amber weather warnings in the area as a result of Storm Darragh saw the clash postponed.

Now, they could have a dream fourth round tie against one of England's best women's teams with Villa currently sat ninth in the top-flight.

Rovers have made an impressive start to life as a National League outfit on the back of last season's promotion, winning six of their opening nine league matches while also reaching the FA Cup third round for the first time in their history.

Although it would be a dream for the Gas to play at an iconic venue in Villa Park, it is expected that the cup tie, if they are to beat the U's, would be played at Villa's secondary venue the Bescott Stadium which is home to men's League Two side Walsall.

It does have to be noted though that progressing past Oxford United alone would be a major feat with the U's competing in the division above and going well, sitting fourth in the Premier Division South.

The fourth round tie is currently scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 12 which is the same day Rovers' men will be travelling to Premier League side Ipswich Town in the FA Cup third round.
