Hansi Flick was shown a straight red card for Barcelona against Real Betis at the weekend in the 2-2 La Liga draw.
It was a surprise to see Flick handed his marching orders, and he insisted after the game he didn’t say anything to anyone and his annoyance was “a reaction to myself.”
Footage has now emerged of the gesture that seems to have got Flick into trouble.
The coach appears to be saying something to the referee and then gives a gentle wave of the arm after the official points for a penalty.
Flick is now said to be facing a two-match ban for his actions after referee Munoz Ruiz noted in his report that he was sent off “for leaving the technical area shouting and gesticulating, protesting one of my decisions.”
Barcelona are set to appeal the sanction but if it’s confirmed then Flick will be in the stands for games against Leganes and Atletico Madrid.
