Stevan Jovetic had a four-year-long spell at Manchester City with was split by a loan move to Inter Milan, and ended with a permanent transfer to the Serie A side.
As Manchester City prepare to take on Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday, few ex-City players would know both sides of the fence as well as Jovetic, given his experience in Italian football.
The striker spoke to TuttoJuve about the upcoming clash and was asked about the sort of match fans could expect.
TuttoJuve quote him as saying: “The Citizens are not having a great time, we are all used to seeing them win by three or four goals and instead they are having a bit of trouble at the moment. It’s normal because it can happen in football, then the injuries are not helping them.”
Speaking about who is going to win the clash, the Montenegrin said: “The Bianconeri are having a so-so championship and are not like Juve, but the coach has just arrived and it takes time. They are a good team, but they are no longer the winning team they were years ago. My bet is on Manchester City. They are stronger, even if they are not in great shape.”
Jovetic was also asked which Manchester City players will have a major impact in the game.
He told TuttoJuve: “I’ll say De Bruyne, because he makes the difference when he’s in form. He’s the strongest in midfield, he can score goals and invent assists out of nowhere. Haaland always scores, he’s a sure thing. I’ve mentioned two, but City have dangerous players who can always do damage.”
Pep Guardiola’s side are fourth in the table and eight points behind leaders Liverpool. At the same time, Juve are sixth in Serie A and are seven points behind Atalanta.
Both clubs have eight points in the Champions League and the game on Wednesday carries a lot of importance both in the European competition and to find confidence for domestic battles.
