Cowboys Starter Sends Message Seeking ‘Prayers’ After Gut-Wrenching Injury

What a year for Demarvion Overshown, the third-round pick the Cowboys had brought in back in 2023. The Cowboys saw him as a potential immediate contributor to a linebacking corps that was thin, but Overshown was hit with a rough bit of luck just before he began his NFL career, suffering a torn left ACL and missing all of the 2023 season.

But he came back this season and was pushed into the team's starting lineup, though he was still basically a rookie and just 24 years old. He'd held up well considering his inexperience, with 90 tackles and five sacks in 13 games.

On Monday night against the Bengals, Overshown again suffered an injury, as his right knee was rolled on by a tangle of players. Coach Mike McCarthy labeled the injury as "serious," and early indications are that it could be his the ACL in his right knee this time.

After the game, Overshown comfirmed that the injury was serious when he went to social media to send a message to fans and observers.

"Wouldn't want this for anyone else! One of God's Toughest Soldiers Keep me in your prayers…" Overshown wrote.

Cowboys star Micah Parsons, whose team had just lost in difficult fashion laregly because of a fumbled blocked punt to the Bengals, 27-20, was distraught about Overshown.

"That hurt, alright?" said Parsons. "I won't wish this on anybody. You can't even put that in words, bro. ...

"He's like my little bro," Parsons said. "He don't deserve that, he really don't. To understand what he's going to have to have to go through. ... He's so talented, the year he was having. I really don't think it's fair."

"That hurt, alright?" said the All-Pro edge rusher. "I won't wish this on anybody. You can't even put that in words, bro."
