The eagerly awaited Merseyside derby had to be postponed on the weekend due to Storm Darragh.
The storm swept through Merseyside creating gale-force winds so in the interest of everyone’s safety, the decision was made to reschedule it.
On Monday afternoon, it emerged that Everton vs Liverpool could be rescheduled for the week commencing February 17th.
So, until then, the rivalry will rumble on in the background ahead of the last derby at Goodison Park before Everton move to Bramley Docks.
With that said, in the aftermath of the postponement, an Everton player has just come forward and admitted in a recent interview that he used to be a Liverpool fan.
Jesper Lindstrom admits he used to support Liverpool
In an interview with Everton’s website, Jesper Lindstrom was asked about his ties to fierce rivals Liverpool.
“My older brother supported Liverpool so that’s where it came from,” Lindstrom admitted.
“It’s easy for me to go on the same train, if you can say that, but I also have another brother who’s a Chelsea fan and another brother who’s a West Ham fan.

“You know, it’s probably because the Premier League is so good.”
The question was asked due to his previous comments whilst playing at Eintracht Frankfurt.
“I’ve always said that I’m a Liverpool fan, so it could be really cool to play for Liverpool at some point,” Lindstrom told TV2 in 2023.
Lindstrom adds that his actual team was Brondby
Lindstrom went on to add that Brondby was the actual team he supported growing up.
“Beyond all that, Brondby was our actual team. We all supported them, which made playing for them and being able to win the league with them so special for us all.”
The Denmark international also made it clear that he loves playing for Everton and will do everything he can to show that.
“Now I’m an Everton player and I love it here. I love the guys, I love the training, I love the facilities, I love the fans,” the 24-year-old added.
“I’m very happy here and, of course, I do everything I can to show that I’m a part of it and to show that I give everything, every day.”
Lindstrom has previously said he hopes to make his Everton loan a permanent deal.
Everton have a buy option worth £18m on the £50k-a-week (per Capology) star.
