Trent Alexander-Arnold
Barcelona have set their sights on Trent Alexander-Arnold, according to Caught Offside & Bernabeu Digital (via Barca Universal). The English right-back's contract with Liverpool expires in just over six months and he hasn't signed a new deal yet.
Real Madrid are already hot on his heels and are planning a Bosman move at the end of this season. However, it now appears that the Catalans are working to ruin their plans.
Barcelona are also looking for a new right-back following Jules Kounde's recent struggles. The Catalans also lack proper cover for the Frenchman in their squad and Alexander-Arnold's arrival could sort out that issue.
Club president Joan Laporta apparently wants to make a statement by prising away one of Real Madrid's top targets. However, winning the race for the Englishman's services won't be an easy affair. Liverpool remain eager to keep hold of their prized asset, while Manchester City are apparently in the race as well.

Viktor Gyokeres
Barcelona are not actively pursuing Viktor Gyokeres, according to journalist Gabriel Sans (via Barca Universal). While the Catalans want to lay down succession plans for Robert Lewandowski, the player is likely to extend his stay at Camp Nou until 2026.
A new striker, as such, is no longer a priority, with the Pole currently firing on all cylinders. Any incoming striker will have to take up a backup position at the moment.
Gyokeres is unlikely to join the Catalans to become second fiddle to Lewandowksi. While the LaLiga giants admire Gyokeres, he will turn 28 in 2026 and may no longer be a lucrative prospect then.
The Swede is at the peak of his powers at the moment and has plundered 25 goals from 22 games for Sporting this season. Recent reports have suggested that he is wanted at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Eric Garcia is not averse to a move away from Barcelona in 2025, according to Gabriel Sans (via Barca Universal). The player is a forgotten man at Camp Nou and the club are apparently willing to cash in on him next year.
The report adds that there's considerable interest in the player's services from the Premier League. Hansi Flick has apparently communicated to the player that he is no longer guaranteed game time with the Catalans.
The German manager will not stop the 23-year-old if he wishes to leave in January. However, the LaLiga giants are reluctant to let him go in the winter as they believe he still has a role to play this season.
Barcelona, though, will consider his departure at the end of the campaign. The Spaniard's contract at Camp Nou runs until 2026, and he is willing to leave to resurrect his career.
