OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, has launched a new AI model capable of transforming text into videos. The program, named “Sora,” is currently available to ChatGPT Plus and Pro users and can generate 20-second videos.
OpenAI initially introduced its text-to-video AI model in February, but access was limited to a small group of users.
In a blog post, the company stated, “We are working on appropriate pricing for different types of users and plan to release this pricing early next year.”
The new AI model allows users to generate high-quality 1080p videos, each up to 20 seconds long.
Additionally, OpenAI announced that it will prevent the creation and upload of harmful content, such as child exploitation material and sexual “deepfakes,” to protect against potential misuse of the technology.
The introduction of Sora marks another milestone in AI’s capabilities, providing new opportunities for creators and businesses to produce video content from simple text prompts.
Despite its advancements, OpenAI’s commitment to ethical guidelines remains crucial, as it strives to balance innovation with responsibility, ensuring its technology is used for positive and constructive purposes.
Since its groundbreaking launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, OpenAI, backed by Microsoft, has made significant strides in the field of artificial intelligence technology.
