£180k p/w star’s agent‘pushing’Manchester United January meeting as Real Madrid stance is clear

Manchester United are seeing one star’s agent push towards a transfer meeting with them as Real Madrid make their stance on the situation clear.

Manchester United are aiming to reinforce their line-up with multiple signings in the summer as Rúben Amorim gets to grips with his new squad.

UtdDistrict understands that the 39-year-old is keen to add at least two midfielders to his squad this summer to operate in the No. 10 and defensive midfield positions.

Also, sources have told UtdDistrict that although Amorim is happy with his current crop of centre-backs, he desires a reinforcement in the summer.

Beyond this, the club have also been heavily linked with signing a left-back in the coming months following persistent injury issues to Luke Shaw and an uncertain future hanging over the head of Tyrell Malacia.

A January transfer meeting

In line with this target, German transfer expert Christian Falk has now revealed that the agent of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, Nedal Huoseh, is delaying a new contract at the club in order to pursue talks elsewhere.

According to Falk’s information, Bayern are putting pressure on Davies to sign a new contract before Christmas, as his current one, which sits at around £180,000 a week, is expiring in June 2025.

The reasoning behind this is that they want to block the player from being able to hold talks with either Manchester United or Real Madrid, but Huoseh is pushing for talks to take place in January.

United are thought to be steadfast in their interest in Davies, and some reports have claimed that the Premier League side are now front runners for his signature.

Real Madrid’s clear stance

Real Madrid have been pursuing Alphonso Davies, though they remain firm in their approach to negotiations.

As reported by Spanish media last month, Los Blancos have already outlined their proposed wage and signing bonus package for the player. However, they are resolute in avoiding a bidding war with other clubs.

The Spanish outlet suggests that Manchester United are currently making the strongest push for the left-back. Meanwhile, Davies’ agent appears to be leveraging the situation to secure the best deal possible.

Given that the transfer from Bayern Munich to Old Trafford would be free, Davies is understandably seeking a substantial wage and signing bonus. However, United are intent on reducing their average wage bill in the coming seasons, which is likely to complicate negotiations.
