Now a month into the job, Ruben Amorim is starting to get a good understanding of his Manchester United squad.
During his first five matches in charge as Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim has relied heavily on rotation and in-game substitutes.
The Portuguese has been thrown in the deep and has not had much time to get to know his players. However, supporters are starting to piece together what Amorim’s strongest XI at United looks like.
In just a few weeks, Amorim will have his first opportunity to add to his squad in the January transfer window, but reports suggest that United’s budget could be limited.
The Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules could shackle United’s spending in 2025, which means sales will be necessary to raise funds.

Ruben Amorim prepared to sell Christian Eriksen and Antony
As Amorim implements his 3-4-3 system at United, he will no doubt want to sign players that suit his style of play.
United continue to be linked to Viktor Gyokeres while Amorim has requested a new left wing-back in 2025.
However, in order to raise funds for his transfer plans, Amorim has pinpointed two stars who can be sold in January.

According to GiveMeSport, Amorim has identified Christian Eriksen and Antony as high-earning names who are free to leave.
The report adds that Eriksen and Antony earn a combined £350,000 per week at Old Trafford – removing them from the wage bill would provide United with some financial flexibility.
While Eriksen’s contract is set to expire in the summer anyway, it claims that Antony has “failed to convince” staff at United that he can turn his fortunes around.
Three players Ruben Amorim could sign in January
Amorim has had a mixed start at United and back-to-back losses in the Premier League will have opened his eyes to just how big a task this is.
He will be keen to strengthen in January and left wing-back is certainly one area he will want to improve. United have been linked to Alvaro Fernandez and have a buy-back clause worth £16.7million.

United have also scouted Tyler Dibling who has been lighting up the Premier League at Southampton. The 18-year-old is a target that Ineos seem keen to capture in 2025.
Finally, Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies has been linked to United as his contract in Germany ticks down. He has thrived at left wing-back and will likely be one of United’s top targets in January and beyond.
